About EMRHA

(Continued from Home Page)

As the versatile ranch horse is the focus of our efforts, we must always care for our horses and all animals with the dignity and respect they deserve and thereby promote better horsemanship throughout our area of influence.

Eastern Mountain Ranch Horse Association (EMRHA) was formed in June 2006 by a group of dedicated horse people who participated in an open Versatility Ranch Horse show earlier that year.

After some research into Ranch Horse Associations, we chose to affiliate with the American Ranch Horse Association (ARHA) because of the variety of classes they offer and the breeds they register. ARHA registers stock/ranch type horses registered with AQHA, APHA, ApHC, IBHA, PBHA, PtHA, ABRA, and NQHR.

EMRHA covers New York and New England with most of its members residing in the foothills of the Adirondacks or the Green Mountains of Vermont.

Our members include people with only a couple of horses who have only begun to compete in these events, to families looking to compete together, to experienced riders who have competed in cattle events for many years, to small breeders looking for an affordable show experience to demonstrate the talent of their horses.
